Persistence Pays

Persistence Pays

We were employed to recover monies for a client from a successful businessman. The debt incurred was for services supplied and was in excess of two years old.

We approached the debtor via written correspondence and informed him that we had been employed to recover the monies. The debtor denied all knowledge of the debt and arranged an appointment to discuss the matter. The meeting was attended by the debtor and his assistant, a large burly man, which suggested that he was attempting to intimidate ourselves or was fearful of the consequences of attending such a meeting.

The industry has such a clandestine reputation that people’s expectations of debt collector’s are quite often very negative. We are professional businessmen whose role is to successfully recover monies. Consequently we present ourselves as a company and individually in a professional manner at all times, without compromise. We are not only protecting our reputation, but that of our clients and we are very careful to maintain this at every occasion.

Persistence pays

At the aforementioned meeting we showed the debtor the documentary proof relating to the debt and asked that it was paid. The debtor advised us that he need to check his own documentation and the meeting ended.

A week later we had a phone call to the Reading branch by the debtor informing us that he was not going to pay the monies owed and to stop any further correspondence as it would not alter his decision.

We continued to contact the debtor on a regular basis and ensured he was aware that we were not prepared to close the case until the monies were paid.

Three months went by until eventually a rather sheepish and humble man arrived at the Reading branch to pay the monies owed.

Interestingly enough we were employed by the debtor some six months later to collect on his behalf. You see at International Credit Enforcement we believe that persistence pays providing you are professional and operate in an appropriate manner.
